Our new President, Heather Haen Anderson, introduced the Edina Morningside Rotary club to the theme of the 2015-2016 Rotary year: "Be a Gift to the World." Throughout the year, Heather will be highlighting club members who are a visible gift to the world.  Using your talents, expertise, and leadership, Rotary members worldwide are asked to be gifts to the world throughout this Rotary year.

2015-2016 EMRC Rotary Club Goals
 
1)  Club Leadership:
a.  Add more depth to the EMRC Board position by having two club members fill each Board position
b.  These two will share accountability for Board and committee responsibilities
c.  Increase number of newer members on to club’s Board of Directors
 
2)  Membership:
a.  Net increase of 3 active members to a total of 72.  (per Club visioning goal to reach 75 active members by 2018)
b.  Reach 25% members under 40 and 50% women
c.  New member service project, led by the Club’s president elect.  The Club will provide up to $1000 to fund this project.
d.  Increase member engagement, thereby increasing retention.  We will do this by:
      *Reigniting Fireside Chats on a quarterly basis and hosting other social events for general membership
      *New Member Mentorships with experienced members
      *New Members asked to join a committee within 30 days of becoming a member
      *100% of members active in at least one committee or project.
 
3)  Club Service:
a. Fundraising (more info to follow)
b. Coordinate weekly meeting assignments:  Sergeant-at-Arms, Greeter, etc
c. Oversee public relations, with monthly press releases to SunCurrent, weekly Facebook and EMRC website updates, and other social media posts
d. Organize one classification per month, ideally in the first week of every month
e.  Support Club Programs chair in arranging weekly, professionally relevant presentations
 
4) Vocational Service:
a.  Continue connections with the Edina Chamber of Commerce and look  for ways to enhance that relationship
b.  Plan a minimum of 4 Rotary in the Workplace meetings
c.  Coordinate plans for the Ethics Luncheon.  Invitations should be given to the inbound and outbound Youth Exchange Students, as well as to STRIVE and ABC students
d.  Organize annual Junior Police program and Camp Enterprise
e.   Work with the Edina Noon Club to plan a new program for EHS students – Networking 101
 
5)  Community Service:
a.  Minimum 6 service projects this year, including:
                *ABC House needs as suggested by Sheila Carrington
                *Coordinate Highway Cleanup/Edina Day of Service
                *Arrange service projects that the whole family will enjoy
 
6)  New Generations Service:
a.  Rotary Youth Exchange – minimum 2+ outbounds  and 2 inbounds.  Both the inbound and outbound students should be invited to meetings or service projects that may interest them
b.  Work with the Vocational Service co-chairs to coordinate efforts for STRIVE,  Camp Enterprise, Junior Police and the new Networking 101 committees
c.  Guide the formation of a new Interact Club at Edina High School with Edina Noon Rotary
 
7)  International Service:
a. Research and plan at least 5 international service projects
b.  Work with other area clubs to create greater impact for the projects
c.  Apply for District and other grants to further fund international needs
c.  Continue support for projects that our Club has personal ties with
 
8)  Club Fundraising:  Total net funds raised  - $38,000
a.  Summer - Golf Tournament, $25,000
b.  Fall – Beer Fest, $6,000
c.  Winter – TBD, minimum $5000
d.  Spring – Flower Sale, $2,000 (dedicated to Polio Plus)
 
9)  RI Foundation Giving:  100% member participation, average $300 per member/ total of $21,600
