Mark Hegstrom
District Governor for 2016-2017
Rotary District 5950

Mark Hegstrom shared his insights with the club on April 5.  Mark began by sharing the story of his journey to become District President - He is a volunteer like each one of us!  He spoke about how he gives to the Rotary International Foundation $20 a time, $20 a week. Now he is a major donor. (Talk to Jim Warner of our club about establishing a giving plan). In Mark's mind, he thinks of keeping one girl from becoming handicapped through Polio.

Mark is an energetic speaker whose booming voice impacts everyone in the room. He spoke of how "attraction" is the future of Rotary. He was attracted by the EMRC desire to serve the community. Mark shared how when he first visited Rotary, the club was planning highway cleanup the next weekend. He volunteered long before he became a Rotarian, and never looked back. He wants our club to be attractive!  And even more than that, to be "Great on Purpose."

Mark spoke of some of the traveling that has been part of his training and preparation, giving credit to his wife, Colleen, for her support.  We look forward to a record breaking year for our District under the Governor Elect's leadership.
