The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee will hold its next book discussion on Monday, June 7th, at 5:00 p.m. They will discuss Chapter 7 (Culture) and Chapter 8 (Behavior) of Ibram Kendi's book How to Be an Antiractist.

EMRC is part of the community-based discussion around Racial Equity and Justice hosted by the Edina Community Foundation. On behalf of our club, Mary Brindle is participating in community conversations led by the foundation.

The EMRC Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committee will present a series discussions, sharing fellowship and learning about the challenges we encounter when learning about race equity and justice. We will use a variety of resources (books, Ted Talks, other discussions) to help deepen our understanding of the concept of unconscious bias and how it plays a role in the context of our society. The topic of racial inequity and injustice is a difficult topic of discussion. We will also use a book discussion format to focus our conversations and our learning.
