EMRC International – “Suds of hope”

Open Arms Home of Children is a home for orphaned and abused children in South Africa. It was founded by Bob Solis and his wife Sallie in 2006.   Bob grew up in Minnetoka and is the president of Open Arms Home for Children and is a member of the Sun City, AZ Rotary Club.

EMRC and District 5950 helped purchase the equipment for the laundry facility at this home.  Another example of Rotarians in action, coming together to do good across the world!

It currently serves 58 children, ranging in age from 8 months to 20 years of age. The home provides love, security, food, shelter, education, recreation, healthcare and the entire range of needs for each child in its care. The home currently has 53 staff members to care for the children’s needs and it is a thriving non-profit.
