Edina Morningside Rotary Club
Mid-Year Club update

On July 1, 2016, the start of this Rotary Year, the Edina Morningside Rotary Club (EMRC) moved forward with three goals that it hoped to achieve June 30, 2017.  This is your mid-year status update.   Here are the 2016-17 EMRC Club Goals and Progress on Same:

1.  Increase Membership:

GOAL PROPOSED:  7 net new members by June 30, 2017.
GOAL ACHIEVED:  19 new members (so far)!

EMRC’s goal was to add seven new members (an ambitious goal of increasing its members by over ten percent).  Not only did the Club meet its goal before the mid-term, it shattered it by adding 19 new members – achieving more net growth than any other club in District 5950. Now the Club is focused on membership retention by instituting a new member orientation program, pairing up new members with veteran members in a mentorship program, getting new members involved in every aspect of the club and providing leadership opportunities.

2.  Fundraising for The Rotary Foundation (TRF):

GOAL PROPOSED:  $24,820 (68 members x$365).
GOAL ACHIEVED:  $26,311 (so far)!

EMRC has met its set goal and is the only club in the District to have met its set goal by midterm; but, the club is not resting.  EMRC has a 100th-Year TRF Celebration set for February 22, 2017, where it has secured money from the Club’s Foundation Board to do some matching.  District TRF Chair Jim Nelson will be the keynote speaker for the event.

GOAL PROPOSED:  3 New Paul Harris Society (PHS) Members.
GOAL ACHIEVED:  15 New PHS Members (so far)!

Before the start of the year EMRC had eight PHS members.  The adding of 15 new PHS members will help our club’s TRF fundraising for years to come.  EMRC was also able to achieve the “100% Paul Harris Fellow Club” designation from Rotary International.

3.  Organization:

GOAL PROPOSED: Retain Institutional Knowledge.
GOAL ACHIEVED: Binders compiled for Board and Board Training conducted.

GOAL PROPOSED: Organize Committees.
GOAL ACHIEVED: Binders compiled for Committees.

Way to go EMRC and thank you for all that you do for Rotary!
