The Internet of Things

The Internet of Things (IoT, sometimes Internet of Everything) is the network of physical objects or "things" embedded with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity to enable it to achieve greater value and service by exchanging data with the manufacturer, operator and/or other connected devices. Come learn about what the IoT is, where it's going in the future and some success stories by local companies.

The mission of IoTFuse is to unite accomplished doers, makers and hackers with the brightest executives, entrepreneurs and innovators. This organization, based in Minneapolis, helps align the world toward a vision of where the Internet of Things is today, where it is headed in the future, and how technology can be used to improve the physical world in which we live. We accomplish this through a yearly conference, hackathons and meetups dedicated to enabling IoT startups and innovation.

Justin Grammens lives at the intersection of community, business and education of the Internet of Things. A software architect and business owner for the majority of his career, Grammens co-founded Recursive Awesome as a solutions provider and IoTFuse as non-profit to help align the Midwest toward a vision of where the IoT is today and how it can be used to improve the world in which we live.

Justin has patents with the USPTO, founded the Mobile Twin Cities and Arduino.MN technology groups and has co-founded the Mobile March Conference and the first Internet of Things Conference in Minnesota with more than 300 attendees to unite accomplished doers, makers and hackers with the brightest executives, entrepreneurs and innovators. He co-launched Minnesota’s first Internet of Things Hack Day where inventors build a product in 12 hours and is a mentor to students of all ages through CoderDojo Twin Cities and Macalester's MacStartups program.

Recently he launched IoTWeeklyNews, a weekly publication which covers current trends on the Internet of Things. Most importantly, he enjoys family movie nights with his wife and 2 boys.
